Two of Nigeria’s biggest global exports just collided in the most unexpected and exciting way possible.
Grammy winning superstar Tems and Arsenal and England winger Bukayo Saka have linked up at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London and whatever they are cooking has the internet in a complete frenzy. Arsenal’s official social media teased the collaboration on March 2 with just two words — “Landing soon” — attracting over three million views almost immediately.
The meetup is part of a new series titled The Link Up, where Bukayo heads to Abbey Road to sit down with Tems and explore the parallels between expressing yourself in the studio and on the football pitch. In the teaser, Tems sets the tone perfectly, turning to Saka and saying
“Welcome to Abbey Road. Where the magic really happens. Let’s try something out.”
This connection did not start yesterday. In February 2025, Tems and Ayra Starr attended Arsenal’s Premier League clash against West Ham, after which Saka gifted both artists personalised Arsenal jerseys. What began on the terraces has blossomed into something far bigger.
With Saka born in London to Yoruba Nigerian parents and Tems conquering the world from Lagos, this is not just a collaboration, it is a cultural moment. And we cannot wait to see what lands.
